Wonderful Invites

Terms of use

Last updated 16 October 2026

These terms cover using Wonderful Invites to design, buy and send invitations. By buying an invitation you agree to them. We’ve kept them as plain as we can.

Who we are

Wonderful Invites (“we”, “us”) is a business run by David Kahale, a sole trader in Sydney, Australia (ABN 98 892 215 136). You can reach us at hello@wonderfulinvites.com.

What you’re buying

You buy one digital invitation for one event: a wedding, a birthday, a Halloween party or a Christmas gathering. It includes the animated envelope and invitation, a personal link for each guest, and a place to see their replies.

  • Each invitation covers up to 299 guests or up to 1000 guests, depending on the option you choose. A child’s birthday (14 and under) covers up to 1000 guests.
  • The price is the one shown for your country when you pay. Prices shown are the full price. We're not registered for GST, so no GST is charged.
  • Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • Your invitation is published as soon as the payment goes through.

Designing and previews

You can design an invitation and preview it for free, without an account. Preview links you share show a “Preview” mark, can’t take replies, and expire after a while. They aren’t a substitute for a published invitation.

What locks when you pay

Some details are fixed at payment, so that one invitation can’t be reused for a different event:

  • the type of event;
  • who it’s for: the couple for a wedding, the birthday person, or the hosts of a party;
  • for a birthday, the age being celebrated;
  • for Christmas, the year.

For Halloween, only the hosts lock; the party’s name is yours to change. Every invitation states the event and the people it’s for in wording that can’t be edited, and a child’s age is shown on a child’s birthday invitation.

Before you pay, we ask you to check these details. If you spot a genuine typo afterwards (a misspelt name, for example), email hello@wonderfulinvites.com and we’ll fix it. We won’t change them to suit a different event or different people.

Everything else stays editable, before and after you send: the date (within the locked year, for Christmas), time, venue, schedule, wording, look and music. Your guests always see the latest version.

How long your invitation stays up

  • Halloween: the invitation and your editing end on 30 November after the Halloween it’s for.
  • Birthdays for ages 15 and over: the invitation and your editing end 90 days after payment. (An adult’s age can be hidden on the invitation, so the time is limited instead.)
  • Weddings, children’s birthdays and Christmas: these don’t have an end date. We keep them, with their guest lists and replies, for at least 12 months after the event date. After that we may delete them.

Your content

You’re responsible for what you put on your invitation: the names, wording, music and anything else you add. Please don’t use it for anything unlawful, hurtful or misleading, or to send messages people haven’t asked for. We may take down an invitation that breaks this, and we’ll tell you why.

Your own music. You can upload one music file per invitation. You must own it or have the right to share it with your guests. Uploading a new file replaces the old one, which is deleted.

You keep ownership of your content. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people you send your invitation to, only to provide the service.

Our designs

The envelope art, seals, effects, music we provide and the software are ours or licensed to us. You can use them on your invitation, but not copy them for anything else.

Your guests

When you add guests, you confirm you’re allowed to give us their details so we can send them your invitation. How we handle their information is set out in our privacy policy.

Refunds

Refunds are never automatic. Email hello@wonderfulinvites.com and we’ll look at your request personally. See our refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Keeping things running

We work hard to keep invitations available, but the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the invitation concerned. This doesn’t exclude any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can’t be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page is the current one. Changes won’t take away anything you’ve already paid for.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. If you live elsewhere, you keep any consumer rights your own country’s law gives you.
