Wonderful Invites

Terms of use

Last updated 16 October 2026

These terms apply to everyone who uses Wonderful Invites: people browsing or designing, Hosts who buy an invitation, and Guests who open one. If you buy an invitation, our Terms and conditions apply to your purchase as well.

Who we are

Wonderful Invites (“we”, “us”) is a business run by David Kahale, a sole trader in Sydney, Australia (ABN 98 892 215 136). You can reach us at hello@wonderfulinvites.com.

In these terms:

  • a Host is someone who creates and pays for an invitation;
  • a Guest is someone a Host invites;
  • an Invitation is a Host’s design, its event page and the personal links made for their Guests;
  • Your Content is everything a Host adds: names, wording, the guest list, uploaded music and messages.

Agreeing to these terms

By using the website, including opening an invitation link, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. If you buy an invitation and these terms differ from our Terms and conditions, the Terms and conditions apply to your purchase.

Who can use the website

  • Anyone can look around and design an invitation for free.
  • Hosts must be 18 or older and able to enter into a contract.
  • Guests of any age can open an invitation they’ve been sent. When a child is invited, a parent or carer should reply for them.
  • You can’t use the website if we’ve stopped your access, or if the law where you are doesn’t allow you to.

Invitations and personal links

Each Guest’s link is made for the people named on it. Anyone who has the link can open the invitation and reply on their behalf, so please treat it like a key:

  • don’t share, forward or post your link, or put it anywhere public;
  • if you think someone else has your link, tell the Host;
  • don’t try to open invitations or links that weren’t sent to you, or guess other links.

A Secret Santa match is shown only to the Guest it belongs to, on the first device that opens it. Please keep yours to yourself, so the surprise works for everyone.

For Guests: the event is the Host’s

Wonderful Invites provides the invitation, not the event. The Host who invited you organises the event and is responsible for it, including:

  • the date, time, venue and everything else written in the invitation;
  • any changes, postponements or cancellations;
  • catering, including any dietary needs you tell them about;
  • gifts, Secret Santa spending limits and anything you agree with the Host or other Guests.

Your replies (whether you’re coming, any message and any dietary needs) go to the Host. If you have a question about the event, ask the Host: replying to an invitation email reaches them. We aren’t responsible for what happens at an event, or for arrangements between Hosts and Guests. How we handle your details is explained in the Privacy policy, including how to ask us to stop emailing you.

Using the website properly

Use Wonderful Invites only for genuine invitations to real events, and only in ways the law allows. Our Content and copyright policy sets out what can and can’t go in an invitation, including uploaded music. You must not:

  • copy, scrape or harvest the website, invitations or anyone’s details, by hand or with automated tools;
  • copy, decompile or reverse engineer the website or its code, except where the law allows despite this term;
  • get around how the website works: the details that lock at payment, payment itself, guest limits, end dates, preview marks or any security measure;
  • overload, attack or disrupt the website, or introduce viruses or other harmful code;
  • open, change or reply to invitations you weren’t sent, or access another person’s account;
  • create accounts automatically, in bulk, or in someone else’s name;
  • use our email sending for anything other than invitations to your event, or to people who wouldn’t expect to hear from you, including marketing or spam;
  • pretend to be someone else, or suggest you’re connected to a person or organisation when you aren’t;
  • use the website to break the law or anyone’s rights.

Our content, and what you may do with it

The website and everything we provide in it (the envelope and invitation designs, artwork, florals, seals, videos, music, fonts as we’ve arranged them, wording, software, and the Wonderful Invites name and seal logo) belong to us or to the people who license them to us.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the website as these terms allow: to design invitations, and, as a Guest, to view and reply to invitations sent to you. A Host’s rights in a paid invitation are set out in the Terms and conditions. You may not copy, download, extract or reuse our artwork, videos, music or fonts outside an invitation made on Wonderful Invites, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you. Everything not expressly licensed to you is reserved.

Content added by Hosts

Invitations contain wording, names and music added by Hosts. We don’t review it before it’s published, and it isn’t ours or endorsed by us. If you think something in an invitation is unlawful or infringes your rights, please report it.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely to improve Wonderful Invites, without owing you anything. We don’t have to use them.

Other services

  • Maps and directions. Our venue map is drawn from OpenStreetMap data. “Open in your maps app” hands the venue’s address to the app you choose (such as Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze), and that app is responsible for its directions. The venue details come from the Host, so check them with the Host if anything looks wrong.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe, and Stripe’s own terms also apply to them.
  • Signing in with Google uses your Google account, under Google’s terms.
  • Sharing by WhatsApp, SMS or social media happens in those apps on your own device, under their terms.

We aren’t responsible for other companies’ services or websites, including any we link to.

Keeping the website running

We work to keep Wonderful Invites available and reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance or security, and we may change, add or remove features. Emails can be delayed or blocked by Guests’ email providers or spam filters, which are outside our control.

Your rights under consumer law

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be excluded, such as the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law, or your statutory rights if you live in the United Kingdom or the European Union. Apart from those rights, and to the extent the law allows, the website is provided as it is, without other promises or warranties.

Limits on our liability

Our liability to Hosts for a paid invitation is set out in the Terms and conditions. For everyone else using the website for free, including Guests, and to the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by the Host, another Guest, an event, a third-party service or something outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under consumer guarantees.

Suspending or ending access

If someone breaks these terms or our Content and copyright policy, or we need to protect Guests, other people or the website, we may remove content, stop emails being sent, or suspend or end their access. We’ll explain why, as our Content and copyright policy describes, unless the law prevents us or doing so would put someone at risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Wonderful Invites changes or the law requires. We’ll post the new version here with its date and, if a change matters to Hosts, tell them by email before it takes effect. Using the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes are dealt with as set out in the disputes section of our Terms and conditions, which forms part of these terms. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

General

  • If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • These terms are written in English, and the English version applies.
